ponders, wonders and thoughts...
I watched "The last samurai" last night. It was a very touching story. Especially towards the end.. Couldnt stop crying.. During the show.. I had lots of thoughts..
i tot it was kinda ironic that when Japan agreed to work with America to train their peasant soldiers. But in the WWII, it was the Americans who bombed them.
the emperor was young. so, it was no wonder that he wanted changes tt would modernise Japan. The court (furnishings and way of conduct) was so westernise.. Then wat was the point of being a Japanese? They haf lost their own heritage!!! The emperor only realised tt point when his loyal minister and all the samurais died.. Sigh.. So sad..
the samurais were amazing!! When they were in the capitol. The ppl bowed respectfully to them. Even if they were in the modernised environment which allows them not to do so!! Woah!!! Imagine wat u haf to do in order to gain this kind of respect?? The samurais haf definitely earned them.. At that point of time.. But they were crippled when they faced guns. the shame.. sigh.. u haf to watch the movie to noe wat i'm talking about..
NO wonder the asian ppl who knew martial arts at tt time Loathed and Hated the guns!! It's kinda like cheating in a proper fight.. Sigh.. they can train for the entire life to be skillful. But a commoner can jus end his life with a small, bloody bullet!! this sux!! And now, no crooks or cops can live without a gun.. TT's u!! stupid terrorists who makes our life tough and miserable.aft watching the movie, i cant help but feel that politics is indeed, complicated. Even the emperor couldnt really do wat he wants without thinking abt it a thousand times. he's only a good leader, if he does something tt the ppl wants and is good for them. if he displeases them, sigh.. who cares if he's son of the god?? the evil ministers will find ways to overthrone him!! It's tough being at the top!! i guess that's y katsumoto can relate to the emperor's weakness and not blame him for his mistakes. Even though he was shamed in front of the court..
The show is amazing. It just keeps me thinking and thinking. The road to modernisation is indeed tough. It's not just about buying new machines or using new technologies to make life better. The process of persuading ppl to discard the old and embrace the new is tiring too. And when new and old ideas clash... Woah.... Unimaginable...
this makes me think.. I'm glad that i'm living in the world and era where I do not have to go through this changing process.
Grateful.. to... life....
quote of the day"Tell me, how did he die??"
"No, I will tell you how did he live instead."
the story of living is better than the story of the dead.
ps: i've still got so much to say.. But the words dun come out as how i want.. I gif up.. But i'll rmb it in my heart.. It's truely meaningful....
