Just watched "Australia"
It's really a pretty movie.
The kind that will make you wanna visit the place after the show.
Spoilers:
Whew, I was so glad that the bad guy did "ahem" in the end.. Hahaha...
There were a few funny scenes here and there.
And the kid was super cute!
Brave
and damn darn Lucky!!
That includes the grandad too...
Happy New Year everyone!
Hope 2009 would be a better year.
Year 2008:
There were a few good stuffs here and there.
Like going through practicum at Nanyang Girls High.
Graduated from the Diploma course. (Like Finally!)
4 weeks plus at HuaYi Sec.
Getting into the Degree Course.
Propagation Centre being upgraded to Temple status and the Wooden Joju Gohonzon enshrined in Singapore.. (Another ... Like FINALLY!!!)
Being 21 years old and of legal age to buy HDB flats and pay tax (boo for the last one there... even though it's mandatory)
Singapore getting the 2nd Silver Medal in Olympics.
Micheal Phelps striking his own goals/golds.
The First Black President in the United States.
But I personally feel that there are more "Bad" stuffs than the happy ones too...
Edison Chen Photo Scandals
Lydia Sum passing away.
The MAS SELAMAT incident which got many to worry and spectacular.
The Sze Chuan earthquake which killed many and made many more homeless.
Taiwan's ex-president involved in money scandals.
1st Singaporean killed in overseas terror attack. (Condolences extended)
Last but not the least (as it will continue for a long while) THE ECONOMIC CRISIS WHICH IS DEEMED AS THE 2ND GREAT DEPRESSION.
Another breakdown of the Singapore Flyer.
Deaths of 3 NSMen in the same year.. With the dates being quite close *Gulp*
Food, transport, and everything that can be bought with money just went up!
War in Iran (Latest!)
I just hope that nothing else happens before the clock strikes noon. Opps, I mean Midnight.
Just weighed in a bit .. Yup! The impact of the "bad" stuffs just overloads the "good" ones..
Haiz.
Let's talk something happy!
Expectation/Plans/Stuffs to look forward to in YEAR 2009
1) Tozan trip. (that's like the mega big thing for me.. Waited for 7 years for this trip!)
2) Does sucky timtable count? Hmmmph
3) Change-over of members in the Children Committee. Well, I'm still in for about 2-3 years. But I hope I can contribute more and work happily with the new team.
4) Maybe.. Found a rich boyfriend
5) Another 4 weeks of teaching assistantship in an unknown school.
6) Arashi's 10th year anniversary!!! I hope I can get the chance (and money. Most importantly, the tickets) to watch their concert. (Praying very hard)
7) Next year is also MayDay's 10th anniversary since their first recorded album (Not forming the band). Hope they are going to do something special and come to Singapore for another concert!
That's all folks!
And once again..
Happy New Year!
What is your True Fear? Your Result: Commitment Even though it may not always seem like it, deep down you are afraid of being committed to anything serious. You love the feeling of being carefree and not having anything tying you down. You're afraid that someone or something that may tie you down in life, will keep you from reaching other goals. You may also be afraid of getting hurt. You need to open yourself up more to possibilities and realize that sometimes it's good to be committed to something that you really care about. Just because you're an independent, free-spirited person doesn't mean that being committed to anything is going to change who you are. |

What is your True Fear? Quiz Created on GoToQuiz |
My first reaction was.. "Eeeek!"
Darn, it's really accurate!
Dunno why. The quiz questions were really kinda irrelevant to the topic. Yet ....
Bingo!
Scary, in a haunting way... *gulp*
Boring... Like totally!
I cant watch my usual dramas and animes.
I dun haf the luxurious to just flick through all the channels until I am satisfied.
No more movie channels for me.
But then, I still haf the internet. (Just that streaming videos take a longer time.. I prefer the TV cos of the larger screen... Ordinary laptops' screen cannot be compared to a normal 29-inch TV screen right?
My dad got the biggest blow from it.
He misses his usual News Channels and movie channels.
He misses his world news updates from cable which are much faster den the normal TVs..
Darn....
I miss cable.
It's been a while,
really...
It's been a while.
It's been a while since I walk home with a glimpse of smile on my face.
It has also been a while since I watch a movie, legally. Like in a cinema.
Nice movies never fails to put a smile on my face.
It's just that important.
Walking and smiling at the same time.
The feeling of tiny happiness spreading through your body.
The weather feels nice, the breeze feels cool on your skin.
You wouldn't mind the extra walk back home (even though you hate walking and always take the short-cut)
You'd wish you could just keep walking without stopping until you feel like it.
Then I got home.
Then I felt the guilt.
Of lying.
Without blinking my eyes for a moment.
Then, my good mood just "pop" into nothingness.
Then I wonder... "Did I really do the right thing?"
My heart says "yes!"
But my morality/conscious begs to differ.
So, right now... I'm kinda caught in the middle between what my heart wants and what my mind disagrees.
I just feel bad.
I'm sorry I lied to you, Mom.
I can't promise that I won't do it again.
But I will repent. And strengthen my faith for the Tozan trip.
请让我再任性吧。I'm not worried about Cause and Effect. I'm just worried that I might not sleep well later.
Shooooot! Whatever. The thing is done and over with. Should I get caught. I'll live with it!
Dang! I hate Kenshus. I am so not afraid to post that sentence. No one in particular group or committee will read about this anyway. I am that insignificant in everyway.
I sign off with a heavy sigh..
Haiz....
PS: Dang! I still cant decide if I have done the right thing or not.
PPS: "Yes Man" is really a funny movie. Jim Carey is really old. And his facial expression is not as extravagant as before. He looks .... normal. In the movie. I think he's kinda tired .... Hmmmph ...
Smart Girl!
Referring to me of course.
This time round, I did not get caught for Jay-walking.
Cos, I've learnt to be street-smart, quite literally.
There I was, going to cross the road. Then, I see people using the overhead bridge. Hmm, the bridge that has existed since forever but never been used by pedestrians? It is a non-rainy day and yet, there are people who are using the overhead bridge?
I look at the road. Ah Ha! There it was. Two officers in THE White Uniform, aka, Traffic Police officers.
I recalled that memorable day when I stupidly jay-walk right infront of the police.
I quickly detoured and use the overhead bridge instead.
I pity the two aunties and uncles who were 'caught'.
Sigh, that $20 fine was well-paid. (like real. I'm still aching over that stupid fine) I learnt the lesson, and I used it well.
While crossing the bridge, there was no one who was jay-walking. People in the bus stop stopped those who were falling into the trap. "Eh! U blind ar? Cannot see the police there is it?"
Ya la ... Totally blind la...
Use the overhead bridge la ... Faster .....

This is my shout out to yo'all!!
I know someone who doesn't know what is "Boxing Day"!
Scary ... .... .....
That someone is a "She", to be precise.
Tsk, tsk, tsk... TXL. Shame on you!
Summary of Boxing day:
Boxing Day is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations with a mainly Christian population. It is based on the tradition of giving gifts to the less fortunate members of society. Contemporary Boxing Day in many countries is now a "shopping holiday" associated with after-Christmas sales.
I hope this clears things up! Hehehehe ... ... ...
PS: I hate my future time-table. Dun ask me why. I'll tell you directly. All 3 music modules are 3 hours each! Argh. And there's only one session! No alternative dates! So, Fridays will be spent on 2 music modules. AAI203(0900-1200) and AAI104(1400-1700). 9-5. With a 3-hour break in between. See! I dun haf to know the rest of the future time-table. Cos I hate Fridays already. Bleah!

And I thought only teenagers in movies and television sitcoms fight with their parents over telephones.
My mom and dad.
Virgo no.1 plus Virgo no.2 = Horrible fights
Sigh.
I'm freaking out. So, to the kids out there. What to do when your parents start fighting? Talk to your siblings.
I'm glad I haf a brother who is even more humorous than me at these times.

PS: Blasting music through stereo headphones is very useful too! ^_^
PPS: My brother is actually so much more mature and thoughtful than I always deem. I try to ignore this fact. But then, I've always known this fact for a long time too. Having a guy in the house is really different....
PPPS: It's nice to haf a siblings talk once in a while. EDIT: Once in a blue moon. Hmmm, the moon is pretty blue right now. *grins*
