Sigh.. Seems that not a lot of ppl noe. Especially some yamakame (referring to you: TXL)
Yup, here's the news.
My pilgrimage trip to Japan is cancelled.
Cos of the Swine flu.
U might be wondering why? Since both Japan and Singapore is not really affected by any cases so far. Well, you see. This pilgrimage trip is to celebrate the 750th anniversary of submitting the Rissho AnKouRon which has a huge significant meaning and action in Nichiren Shoshu History. (Something to do with getting all the disasters getting predicted all CORRECT by our Buddha. But other sects in Japan at that time only got like 73-80 percent correct. Wow, getting all correct. Cool eh?)
Therefore, there will be gazillions of ppl from all around the world to join in this celebration. Like, Singapore, Malaysia, Uraguay, Indonesia, Asia countries. Plus European countries, United States and Mexico. See any link there?
Yup,the believers from the affected areas (namely Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Germany, New Zealand, Austria and Israel. Ok, maybe not the last one) will be joining too. But they cant! Cos, of the swine flu of cos. Hence, High Priest has decided to cancel the pilgrimage trip. Haiz. Heard from the Chief Priest of my temple that it wasnt an easy decision. Because this event has been planned for YEARS. And the June batch of ppl going is like a 10,000 ppl in total. So, the lodging for this batch of believers (aka, me included)have to be relocated in other batch. And the only time I can go is the last batch. The December one. Goodness!I hate the cold. That's y I opted for the June batch.
Sigh.
Well, I heard from my Mother that there might b a plan B. Which is, the date for the ceremony might be postponed to Mid-June. And to compensate, we might get a free day off and can perhaps go to Tokyo DisneyLand. BUT! That's only a hearsay kinda thing. I dun think it'll really happen.
It's really heart-breaking. To see my check of refund returning back to me.
