Have you ever heard of the phrase, “I’m just too lazy to go home”? This is the phrase that suddenly appeared in my brain. The sad and scary thing is, it is still lingering inside my head. Argh….. Why am I too lazy to go home? Actually, it’s more of a drag.
Cos I have to cross the overhead bridge to the bus-stop.
Fact: I absolutely detest (and loathe) climbing the stupid bridge. The coming down part is worse. There’s so many steps to get down to ground. I keep having fears of losing my step and fall flat and malu myself in front of the so many top students in Singapore! Oh! The shame of it should this happen!
Allow me to do silent screaming for a few minutes.
(ARHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
Ok, back to the topic. Honestly. I dun see the need for overhead bridges. Why cant they do the underground pass instead? So much easier!
Advantages:
1) No need to fight gravity. Can save some energy for poor teachers (aka, Moi) for their teaching in schools. Students can spend more effort on their sports rather den climbing the stupid flight of stairs in the hot, burning and shinning afternoon flame.
2) For those who carries lots of heavy stuffs like books, instruments etc, going through the underpass is definitely so much better than going up stairs!
4) After a long day of lesson, and all you wanna do is just go home and take a shower then a quick nap. Under the hot, blaring sun, you look up at the enormous flight of steps. Sigh. All I can think of is… Sianz…………………………………
3) People (like me again) who can’t wake up early in the morning and are held back by the stupid heavy traffic that occurs every morning can get to school faster. How? Well, running through a straight path is way faster and less strain for legs right? Imagine this. You are running late and you realise that you have to waste 5 minutes to climb the overhead bridge before making it through the school gate. But with the underground pass, you might just need less than a minute to zoom past and get into the school on time! See the BIG difference???!!!!
4) Overhead bridges are so dangerous! Anything can drop and hit someone.
5) In an underground pass, you can wait inside for your friend cos the place is not as obvious as an overhead bridge where you’ll block ppl. (the space at overhead bridges are just so horrifying small don’t you think?) Next, should it rain, where’s the best place for temporary shelter until the rain stops? Is the overhead bridge or underground pass? (DRUM ROLL) Of Course it’s the underground pass! You’ll still get hit by raindrops if you use the bridge cos the only place nor exposed to rain is the HEAD. Underground pass gives so much security.
Come on! What are you waiting for? Vote to change all overhead bridges to underground passes now!!!
